FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

When can I get my driving licence?

You can drive a car on your own from your 18th birthday. You can start your training with us at any time, but you should be aware that all lessons – both theory and driving lessons – lose their legal validity after 24 months.

Up to six months before your birthday, you can submit your documents to the relevant town hall/district office and apply for your driving licence. You can take the theory test three months before your birthday and the practical test one month before reaching the minimum age.

One way to be allowed to drive earlier is ‘accompanied driving at 17’. This means that after you pass your test, you are accompanied by a registered parent, for example.

What do I need to bear in mind when it comes to car driving licences?

For car driving licences, the theory lessons ‘Auto Theory 1’ and ‘Auto Theory 2’ (also known as topics 13 and 14) are compulsory.. You must attend these once. If you attend this topic a second time, the lesson will not be credited.

The next ‘Auto 1’ lesson will take place on {{ next-lesson: AUTO1 }}.

The next ‘Auto 2’ lesson will take place on {{ next-lesson: AUTO2 }}.

In addition, classes AM (scooter) and L (tractor) are included in class B.

Where can I find detailed information about the process?

Our page Driving licence process describes the steps you need to take. When you register online (see Online registration form), all steps and required driving lessons are calculated individually for each driving licence class.
